Description: This five-part series sponsored by The Center on Colfax examines the struggles from the Stonewall Riots that occurred in 1969 through the lens of the current Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests today. We are finding ourselves in a distinct and important political moment – this is an opportunity for our community to reorient ourselves towards what Pride was founded upon by recentering and amplifying Black voices.
This chat series, hosted by Fireside at Five and in partnership with The Center on Colfax, will be a livestreamed panel focusing on the “It Takes a Village” Campaign. This campaign will encourage “call-in” culture, highlight Black and queer-owned businesses, and amplify the voices of underrepresented communities. The following Chats will center on four main pillars: community, inclusivity + equity, diversity, and action.
